All of these images are generated during model runs that occur every twelve hours; models such as the RUC (Rapid Update Cycle) get updated more frequently. These forecast model images are technical, so you will have to have some knowledge of weather symbols, how to derive a forecast from the model imagery, and know what each variable, or image, means.
